Media Development Interventions
AGAHI has been leading initiatives and media development frameworks supporting ethical practices in Pakistan. It has been recognizing International Media Ethics Day for more than three years, bringing together journalists from all over the country to discuss ethical dilemmas faced by them. On this day, media professionals and journalists emphasize the role of media in creating informed public opinion through professional and credible content. It also creates opportunities for the journalists in seeking advice from experienced editors and development experts. AGAHI has held several discussions on media ethics and the ghastly challenges faced by journalists in the South Asian region.
In consultation with UNESCO and the Center for International Media Ethics, AGAHI has developed a content evaluation matrix that enables journalists and media organizations to examine content performance, helping them understand ethical dilemma confronting their professions.
AGAHI is providing extensive research input to Mishal Pakistan’s Credibility Lab.
