Puruesh Chaudhary, Founder AGAHI speaks at the BBC College of Journalism

Puruesh Chaudhary and Amir Jahangir of Mishal, speaking at the BBC College of Journalism, Connecting Communities Conference in Salford on 24th March 2012. They were discussing how to connect with communities in Pakistan.

” When we first came up with the idea for Connecting Communities, #bbcscc12, we wanted to ensure it didn’t become just another one-day conference that finished at 5pm on Thursday 24 May 2012.

For it to be a genuine success, we wanted it to be the catalyst for a wider discussion about the relationship between the mainstream media and communities on a local, global and cultural level.

We recognise this relationship is far from perfect – there are tensions around attribution, money, resources, quality and values. All of these subjects were touched upon in the panel discussions, keynote speeches, 10/10 presentations, and in the general conversation around the event. ” – David Hayward, http://www.bbc.co.uk/journalism/blog/2012/05/bbcscc12—continuing-the-conv.shtml
