AGAHI Honours Pakistan’s First Ever Foresight Research Fellowship Grant on CPEC to Quaid-e-Azam University’s Student

Dr. Inayatullah Research Fellowship Grants Programme Aimed at Promoting and Pursuing Peace and Technology.

Islamabad, PK – 5th October 2016 – AGAHI a not-for-profit organization and the country partner of the Millennium-Project, a Global Futures Studies & Research participatory think-tank, inaugurated Dr. Inayatullah Foresight Research Fellowship programme with Quaid-e-Azam University.

The AGAHI selection committee in appraisal with academics and industry experts selected Kainat Younas (Department of Defence and Strategic Studies at Quaid-e-Azam University) for the Fellowship Grant award for the year 2016-17.

img_8157 On the occasion, Puruesh Chaudhary, the Founder and President of AGAHI said, “AGAHI and Quaid-e-Azam university are focusing on strengthening the industry-academia linkage on creating foresight perspectives in Pakistan”. She further said, “This relationship will bring together experts from varied academic backgrounds to roadmap their professional opinion adapting existing futures research methods and models combining techniques to envision broader range of alternative futures”.

The Fellowship is designed in consultation with the members of the Council of Social Sciences. AGAHI realizing the importance of strengthening and developing research abilities of students initiated a nationwide annual Foresight Research Fellowship programme to Honour the services and efforts of Dr. Inayatullah in promoting quality research in Social Sciences along with the objective to advance learning faculties of the researchers across the country with a cross-cutting focus on Peace and Technology promoting the fundamentals of a knowledge economy.

Talking to the participants of the Fellowship awarding ceremony, Dr. Mirza Nasrullah, In-charge Defence and Strategic Department stressed the importance of China Pakistan Economic Corridor and how this research endeavour would identify the dynamics of domestic and regional challenges pertinent to CPEC that require a masterful strategic approach to handling future challenges.

The AGAHI Fellow 2016-17 will research on the multiple factors influencing the domestic dynamics with regards to Pakistan’s future and the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The inaugural ceremony was held at the Quaid-e-Azam University to award the most competent candidate with the research grant in presence of respectable faculty members.

AGAHI is a not for profit organization established in Islamabad in 2011 under the Society Registration Act 1860. Its primary function is to create non-paid communication strategies, content intelligence structures, development collaterals and tools for diverse sectors and organizations. AGAHI encourages and advises individuals and institutions in pursuing and supporting initiatives to improve the state of development in Pakistan. It works on developmental frameworks facilitating information and knowledge sharing platforms on understanding challenges in global perspective. Its research work mainly focuses on national and international security, ICT, competitiveness, human security, and governance.
